AM I ALIVE NOW

At night, three people and a monkey break into an unknown office. They have until the morning. They know that it is not difficult to see through the falsehood, contingency and constructedness of the world, but it is difficult to replace it by something else. But they try. They play games, as this is the only remaining possibility to get people’s attention. Lecturing and reprimanding have lost their effect long ago. They play love and death and cards and house and economic disaster. They play, but their pain is real. How did we get to the situation where the goal is to make more money out of money, more work out of work and more shortage out of shortage? Why do we think that the one whose life resembles a happy film (or a song or an article or a picture) the most leads the happiest life? When did we become able to evaluate human relations on a 10-point scale? What does “cool” mean? When was the last time you felt moved by something? And when did we get to the point where the only contact with the living world is a photo of a tropical island on our desktop? We don’t know, but we want out of there. Give us your hand and we ll go together.
